The competition season 2010 is almost over - we are only waiting for one last comp in switzerland during this month.
But the Acrobatic Paragldiding World Cup (APWC) is already done - sadly only two APWC events during this year, but two very successful events in my eyes - Paranoia Acrobatixx in Zell am See and Acroaustria at Gerlitzen (both were held in Austria beside many smaller national competitions in Spain, France and Norway).
Congratulations to Horacio who showed his impressive paragliding skills, after many successful years for him, at all the competitions in 2010 again. Also Pál - coming back from the X-Alps 2009 and many other projects - ruled the APWC and finished in front of Hernan who flew solid as usual on the podium! THUMBS UP.
Also some new faces like Tim Alongi from France were crashing into the top ten and I am more than happy that I finished on the 6th position.
Big up to all the competitors and organisers - it was a great summer with some wicked coming togethers - Big up to all Team Sup’air and Team SOL members who ruled comps - I really enjoyed the time in Spain with the spanish and the austrian team, in France with all the Sup’air rockers...

In the middle of September (11.-14.11.2010), at the end of the europe season 2010, the french and some international pilots came together for the French Championship and the FAI CAT 2 French Open acro competiton. The competition was held over the gorgeous Lac de Serre Ponçon (Haute-Alps, France), a really beautiful spot surrounded by interesting mountains for flying acro and XC.
For the French Open the pilots got towed up 500 meters over the lake with a funny but working winch system which made us laughing but also shouting.
That was also a reason why we couldn‘t make to many runs while we had sunny days and too many competitors to tow.
Anyway, finally we did one complete tasks and a super final with the best 8 which was decided at the beginning of the competition by the judges François Bon (Headjudge), David Soujey and Iris Vogt.
Some of the pilots showed some incredible clean runs with huge landings. Especially the 17 years old Eliot Nochez (FRA) impressed with his solid skills which brought him on the 2nd Place at the French Championship and on the 4th place at the French Open.
Also Cyril Planton, Baptiste Rousset, François Ragolski and Marvin Ogger showed what they are able to perform with their wings and finished on the podium.
Although the organisation didn‘t had to much financial supporting by sponsors, a lot of friendly people helped together and gave their best to make the competitors happy and content. As already mentioned this is a lovely spot for a competition and we hope to see you there next year.

During the last weekend of August the Acro-Scene came together at the well known acrospot at the Ossiacher See in Kaernten, Austria, for the second and last APWC in 2010 (with Solo + Synchro category). Beside the best pilots who were arriving from all over the world there have been a lot of young and promising new faces in the scene.
Lino Oehl (yellow), Marvin Ogger - Synchro Spiral
With a very nice altitude for an acro competiton the pilots showed there incredible performance during two solo and three synchro tasks with Infinity Tumbling almost being standard. The most important thing was to keep a good eye on a nice management of altitude, the coefficients of the tricks, a beautiful choreo, etc. to perform the perfect competiton run.
Only those who didn’t do any mistake during the whole competiton reached a place on the podium – the spanish talent Horacio Llorens (1st), shooting-star and Red Bull X-Alps competitor Pal Takats (2nd) and the well known Hernan Pitocco (3rd) from Argentina. Close behind nobody else then the acro legend Raul Rodriguez (4th) and Jochen Schweizer (5th) from Germany (despite that he didn’t even practiced acro this year he managed to finish in front of many big names!). Marvin and his synchro partner Lino Oehl sadly missed one trick during the two Solo runs as well as in their synchro runs.
The russian girl Maria Vikhlyaeva finished as the 3rd woman behind the 16 years old Daniela Martin (2nd) from Germany and Judith Zweifel (1st) from Switzerland, as the best woman.
In Synchro the new team SAT ATTACK (Raul Rodriguez and Horacio Llorens) made it to the top, the hungarian team justACRO (Pal Takats and Gabor Kezi) finished on the 2nd and the swiss boys (Remo Niederer and Yves Berlowitz) LuckyClowns on the 3rd place.
Mr. Meschuh, Marvin Ogger, (Lino Oehl) - on the way back from the raft
After four beautiful days with lots of sun and heavy storms at the Gerlitzen in Kaernten, Austria, it was time to say « good bye - seeya next year!». Big up to organisator and pilot Xandi Meschuh who made this gorgeus APWC for us possible and to all the many helping hands."
